About

Someone once told me, "You can do anything you want, but you can't do everything."

That was true before AI.

It's still true. But, now we can do more.

Doing more for the sake of doing more is dumb. I want to do better things, not more things. For me, that means creative work: stuff that challenges me, sparks my imagination, puts me in a flow state, and makes me feel like I'm improving my life (or someone else's life) in some way. I want to satisfy my curiosity, cultivate my empathy, share my strengths, and deepen my connection to the people and world around me.

My personal interests and views of the world are partly the result of an unconventional education. In college I pursued history, philosophy, religion, and psychology. Even then I wasn't interested in what job I could get. I wasn't there to do more. I was there to try to figure out what, if anything, was worth doing. I left college with an appreciation of how complex we are as human beings, how big the world is, and a sense of how much more we could be.

I didn't get a big kid job until 2017, after studying software design and engineering, almost twenty years into my working life. I gained experience working at a small startup, then for a big retail e-commerce platform, and then I worked on a suite of video conferencing tools and a developer platform at a Fortune 100 tech company. In 2023 I transitioned into running design operations where workflow optimization became my main job.

AI adoption wasn't an option.

I believe technology should improve the world – for everyone – and liberate humans to do more of the human things. I built a human-centered AI operating system with that goal in mind. I built it for myself and I run my work through it daily. It's just a set of markdown files, a few tools, and a way of working. Not an app – a system. And, it works. Since August it has grown to roughly 20 projects, 1,000 files, and 300+ logged decisions, with an AI assistant picking up each session where the last one left off. It's no longer a prototype. It's a proven program. I want to share it with you so you can do more of the things you want to do and less of the things you don't.

If you're willing to approach the world of AI with an open mind, a willingness to make a few mistakes, and a vision of what getting better might enable you to do, I think you're going to be impressed.
